Charcoal and charred wood has been retained for species identification and possibly for dendrochronology. Dendrochronological samples were sent to Cornell University from where they were transferred to the Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research at Arizona University. Samples recovered so far have not been securely dated. Identified woods include oriental beech, black pine, oak and juniper.
