At the Middle East Technical University (METU) the Project is affiliated to TAÇDAM http://www.metu.edu.tr/home/wwwmuze/tacdam.html.The Faculty of Architecture http://www.arch.metu.edu.tr/ has generously provided a Project Office since 1998 and has awarded grants for GIS and photo-rectification studies. Storage and conservation facilities have been provided by the METU Museum http://www.metu.edu.tr/home/wwwmuze/muze.html . In addition to members of the Faculty of Architecture we have collaborated with both staff and students from the Graduate Program in Settlement Archaeology http://sa.metu.edu.tr, the Department of Archaeometry http://www.metu.edu.tr/home/www863/, the Department of Geological Engineering http://www.metu.edu.tr/home/www64/, the Department of Geodetic and Geographic Information Technologies http://www.ggit.metu.edu.tr/home/main/, and the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering http://www.mete.metu.edu.tr/. The Kerkenes Project is, of course, dependent on its patrons to all of whom we extend our thanks and appreciation. Sponsorship comes in a number of forms, grants from academic bodies, grants and donations from organisations in Turkey, practical help and participation from organisations in Turkey and contribution of various kinds from individuals. Special thanks are due to the former longstanding Director, Dr. David French, and another former Director Dr. R. J. Matthews, for constant help and good advice. |
